Is Tarot Really Evil?
I was born Catholic, and in my twenties, I became a Christian. I went to church regularly, served in ministry, and truly believed I was walking the “right path.” And for the most part, I still do—except now, the path looks different. Today, I consider myself spiritual, not religious. I believe in God. In Source. In Divine Energy. I believe God is not confined to a building or one label. I believe God is everywhere—and we are all a part of Him.
So yes, I read tarot.
Cue the dramatic gasp.
I know. I know.
For years, I thought it was evil, too.
Growing up, I was told that anything outside of the Bible—especially things like tarot—was “divination,” and therefore, of the devil. I heard phrases like "You're opening doors," or "You're allowing the enemy in." These warnings kept me away from exploring anything intuitive or energetic for a long time—even when I felt a pull toward them.
But as I deepened my personal growth journey, I started questioning the fear.
I studied energy, vibration, consciousness—and something shifted in me. I realized that God is energy. So are we. And tarot, like many other tools, works on the level of energy and reflection—not fortune-telling or dark arts.
Tarot Is Not Fortune-Telling. It’s Self-Telling.
Tarot isn’t about predicting your death or telling you who to marry.
In fact, when used intentionally, tarot is more like a mirror than a crystal ball. It reflects back to you the energy you’re carrying, the patterns you might be stuck in, or the guidance you already know deep down—but haven’t been listening to.
It’s not evil. It’s honest.
One day, I was overwhelmed about a decision in my business. I felt torn between two options—one felt “safe,” the other felt more expansive, but risky. I pulled a card, just one, and got the Two of Wands. The message? You’re at a crossroads. You’re being invited to expand. To trust the vision. It didn’t tell me what to do. It simply reflected the energy of expansion I was already leaning toward but too afraid to own.
That moment didn’t feel evil.
It felt clarifying. And honestly, it felt like a loving nudge from God.

Reclaiming Tools, Releasing Fear
Let’s be honest—religion has a long history of labeling anything it can’t control as “evil.”
But just because something is unfamiliar doesn’t mean it’s dark. Just because something comes from outside your traditional faith doesn’t mean it’s dangerous. God can speak through anything—through people, music, nature… and yes, even through cards.
The Law of Vibration says everything is energy. When you touch a tarot card, when you focus your intention, you’re tuning into that vibration. You’re not “summoning spirits.” You’re listening—to yourself, to Source, to the energy you’re already part of.
Tarot is a tool. That’s all it is.
Like journaling. Like prayer. Like meditation.
The danger isn’t in the tool—it’s in how we use it.
For the Curious but Cautious
If you’ve been curious but hesitant, I get it.
If you’re scared you’re doing something wrong, I hear you.
I was you.
You don’t have to drop your beliefs to pick up a deck.
You don’t have to be “witchy” to want deeper self-awareness.
You don’t have to worship the cards. You just have to be open.
So… is tarot evil?
I don’t believe so.
For me, it’s been a gentle, honest, and powerful way to reconnect with myself and with God—no fear, no fluff, just truth.
If you're still unsure, that’s okay. You’re allowed to take your time. But don’t let fear keep you from a tool that could help you heal, grow, and get clear.
✨ Maybe it’s not evil. Maybe it’s just energy. And maybe that’s exactly what you need right now.
